Few Important Incident in virtues of Surah Al-Quraish
We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Quraish
1. It is Narrated to Hazrat Masruq (RA) that:
We were with Abdullah, and he said, When the Prophet (PBUH) saw the refusal of the people to accept Islam, he said, O Allah! Send (famine) years on them for (seven years) like the seven years (of famine during the time) of (Prophet) Joseph. So famine overtook them for one year and destroyed every kind of life to the extent that the people started eating hides, carcasses, and rotten dead animals. Whenever they looked towards the sky, he would (imagine himself to) see smoke because of hunger. So Abu Sufyan went to the Prophet (PBUH) and said, O Muhammad! You order people to obey Allah and keep good relations with kith and kin. No doubt the people of your tribe are dying, so please pray to Allah for them. So Allah revealed: “Then watch you For the day that The sky will bring forth a kind of visible smoke! You will return (to disbelief) On the day when We shall seize You with a mighty grasp. Ibn Masud added, Al-Batsha (grasp) happened in the battle of Badr, and no doubt smoke, Al-Batsha, Al-Lizam, and the verse of Surat Ar-Rum have all passed.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 1007)
2. Narrated to Hazrat Ibn e Abbas(RA):
Once I came riding a she-ass, and I had just attained the age of puberty. Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) led the people in prayer at Mina, facing no wall. I passed in front of the row, let loose the she-ass for grazing, and joined the row, and no one objected to my deed.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 861)
3. Narrated to Hazrat Ayesha(the mother of the believers):
During his illness, Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) prayed at his house while sitting, whereas some people prayed behind him standing. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) beckoned them to sit down. On completion of the prayer, he said, The Imam is to be followed: bow when he bows, raise up your heads (stand erect) when he raises his head, and when he says, Samia l-Allahu liman hamidah (Allah heard those who sent praises to Him) says then Rabbana wa laka l-hamd (O our Allah ! All the praises are for You), and if he prays sitting then pray sitting.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 688)
4. It is Narrated to Hazrat Abu Huraira(RA):
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, The tribe of Quraish has precedence over the people in this connection (the right of ruling). The Muslims follow the Muslims amongst them, and the infidels follow the infidels amongst them. People are of different natures: The best amongst them in the pre-Islamic period are the best in Islam provided they comprehend the religious knowledge. You will find that the best amongst the people in this respect (of ruling) is he who hates it (the idea of ruling) most, till he is given the pledge of allegiance.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 3495)
