We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Talaq

1. Narrated to Hazrat Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabia that :

Hazrat Umar bin Al-Khattab left for Sham, and when he reached a place called Sargh, he came to know that there was an outbreak of an epidemic (of plague) in Sham. Then Abdur Rahman bin Auf told him that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, “If you hear the news of an outbreak of an epidemic (plague) in a certain place, do not enter that place: and if the epidemic falls in a place while you are present in it, do not leave that place to escape from the epidemic.” So Hazrat Umar returned from Sargh.

2. Narrated Al-Miswar bin Makhrama Az-Zuhri that :

I heard the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) saying, “Banu Al-Mughira have asked my leave to let Ali marry their daughter, but I give no leave to this effect. (Sahih al-Bukhari: 5278)

3. Narrated Ibn to Hazrat Umar (RA):

I heard Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) saying, “All of you are Guardians.” Yunis said: Ruzaiq bin Hukaim wrote to Ibn Shihab while I was with him at Wadi-al-Qura saying, “Shall I lead the Jumua prayer?” Ruzaiq was working on the land (farming), and there was a group of Sudanese people and some others with him; Ruzaiq was then the Governor of Aila. Ibn Shihab wrote (to Ruzaiq), ordering him to lead the Jumua prayer and telling him that Salim told him that Abdullah bin Umar had said, “I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, All of you are guardians and responsible for your wards and the things under your care. The Imam (ruler) is the guardian of his subjects and is responsible for them, and a man is the guardian of his family and is responsible for them. A woman is the guardian of her husband’s house and is responsible for it. A servant is the guardian of his master’s belongings and is responsible for them.’ I thought that he also said, ‘A man is the guardian of his father’s property and is responsible for it. All of you are guardians and responsible for your wards and the things under your care.

4. Narrated to Hazrat Abu Hurayrah:

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: May Allah have mercy on a man who gets up at night and prays and awakens his wife; if she refuses, he should sprinkle water on her face. May Allah has mercy on a woman who gets up at night, prays, and awakens her husband; if he refuses, she will sprinkle water on his face.

(Sunan Abi Dawud: 1308)

Conclusion

In this Surah, Allah explained that Muhammad reproved for making a vow to please his wives. He is relieved from his vow. Muhammad’s wives reproved and threatened for their jealousy in the affair of Mary, the Coptic slave. Exhortation to believers to exercise faith, repentance, etc. Muhammad commanded to treat infidels and hypocrites with severity. The wives of Noah, Lot, Pharaoh, and the daughter of Imran examples of Muslim women.
