1- Abu al-Aswad reported that ‘Imran b Husain asked him:

What is your view, what the people do today in the world, and strive for, is it something decreed for them or preordained for them, or will their fate in the Hereafter be determined by their Prophets brought them teaching which they did not act upon? I said: Of course, it is predetermined for them and preordained for them. He (further) said: Then, would it not be an injustice (to punish them)? I felt greatly disturbed and said: Everything is created by Allah and lies in His Power. He would not be questioned as to what He does, but they would be questioned; thereupon, he said to me: May Allah have mercy upon you, I did not mean to ask you but for testing your intelligence. Two men of the tribe of Muzaina came to Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) and said: Allah’s Messenger, what is your opinion that the people do in the world and strive for, is something decreed for them; something preordained for them and will their fate in the Hereafter be determined by the fact that their Prophets brought them teachings which they did not act upon. And thus they became deserving of punishment? Thereupon, he said: Of course, it happens as it is decreed by Destiny and preordained for them, and this view is confirmed by this verse of the Book of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious: Consider the soul and Him Who made it perfect, then breathed into it its sin and its piety.

2- Narrated to Hazrat Abdullah bin Zama that:

He heard the Prophet (PBUH) delivering a sermon, and he mentioned the she-camel and the one who hamstrung it. Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) recited:– ‘When the most wicked man among them went forth (to hamstrung the she-camel). Then he said, “A tough man whose equal was rare and who enjoyed the protection of his people like Abi Zama went forth to (hamstrung) it.” The Prophet (PBUH) then mentioned the women (in his sermon). “It is not wise for anyone of you to lash his wife like a slave, for he might sleep with her the same evening.” Then he advised them not to laugh when somebody broke wind and said, “Why should anybody laugh at what he does?

3-Muhammed bin Amar narrated from his father, from his grandfather who said:

“I heard Bilal bin Al-Harith Al Muzani, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying: “Indeed one of you says a statement pleasing to Allah, not realizing that you have achieved what you have achieved. Then for it, Allah writes for him His pleasure until the Day of Meeting Him. And one of you says a statement angering Allah, not realizing that you have achieved what you have achieved. Then for it, Allah writes for him His anger until the Day of Meeting with Him.

Conclusion

In this Surah, Allah explained to the Oaths that man’s happiness and misery depends on the purity or corruption he hath wrought in it. Nation Samud destroyed for rejecting their prophet. It begins with a series of oaths at various astronomical events, the first of which, the “sun,” gives the name sura, then the soul of man himself.
