1. Narrated to Hazrat Abu Wail:
Somebody said to Hazrat Usama, “Will you go to so-and-so (Usman) and talk to him (advise him regarding ruling the country)?” He said, “You see that I don’t talk to him. I talk to (advise) him secretly without opening a gate (of affliction), for neither do I want to be the first to open it (rebellion), nor will I say to a man who is my ruler that he is the best of all the people after I have heard something from Allah s Apostle Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) .” They said, What have you heard him saying? He said, “I have heard him saying, A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in the (Hell) Fire, so that his intestines will come out, and he will go around as a donkey goes around a millstone. The people of (Hell) Fire will gather around him and say: O so-and-so! What is wrong with you? Didn’t you use to order us to do good deeds and forbid us to do bad deeds? He will reply: Yes, I used to order you to do good deeds, but I did not do them myself, and I used to forbid you to do bad deeds, yet I used to do them myself.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 3267)
2. Narrated to Hazrat Huzaifa:
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) once delivered a speech in front of us wherein he left nothing but mentioned (about) everything that would happen till the Hour. Some of us stored that in our minds, and some forgot it. (After that speech) I used to see events taking place (which had been referred to in that speech), but I had forgotten them (before their occurrence). Then I would recognize such events as a man recognizes another man who has been absent and then sees and recognizes him.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 6604)
3. Narrated to Hazrat Abu Huraira(RA):
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “The person who participates in (Holy battles) in Allah’s cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr). Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad, and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah’s cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 36)
4. Narrated to Ibn Masud:
Regarding the Holy Quran Verse: You have not been screened against yourself lest your ears, eyes, and skins should testify against you. While two persons from Quraish and their brother-in-law from Thaqif (or two persons from Thaqif and their brother-in-law from Quraish) were in a house, they said to each other, “Do you think that Allah hears our talks?” Some said, “He hears a portion thereof” Others said, “If He can hear a portion of it, He can hear all of it.” Then the following Verse revealed: ‘And you have not been screened against yourself lest your ears, and your eyes and skins should testify against you.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 4816)
