Few Important Incident in virtues of Surah Al-Taghabun
We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Taghabun
1. Narrated to Hazrat Abdullah bin Masud:
Allah’s Messenger Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the faithful and truly inspired, narrated to us, “The creation of every one of you starts with collecting the material for his body within forty days and forty nights in the womb of his mother. Then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period (40 days), and then he becomes like a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then an angel is sent to him (by Allah), and the angel is allowed (ordered) to write four things; his livelihood, his (date of) death, his deeds, and whether he will be a wretched one or a blessed one (in the Hereafter) and then the soul is breathed into him. So one of you may do (good) deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise so much that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Paradise but then what has been written for him decides his behavior, and he starts doing (evil) deeds characteristic of the people of Hell (Fire) and (ultimately) enters Hell (Fire), and one of you may do (evil) deeds typically of the people of Hell (Fire) so much so that there is nothing except a cubit between him and Hell (Fire), then what has been written for him decides his behavior, and he starts doing (good) deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and ultimately) enters Paradise.
(Sahih Bukhari: 7454)
2. Narrated to Abu Wail:
Abdullah bin Masud said, Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, ‘Whoever takes an oath when asked to do so, in which he may deprive a Muslim of his property unlawfully, will meet Allah Who will be angry with him.’ So Allah revealed in confirmation of this statement:–“Verily! Those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah’s Covenant and oaths shall have no portion in the Hereafter. Then entered Al-Ash’ath bin Qais and said, “What is Abu `Abdur-Rahman narrating to you?” We replied, ‘So-and-so.” Al-Ash’ath said, “This Verse was revealed in my connection. I had a well in my cousin’s land (and he denied my possessing it). On that the Prophet (PBUH) said to me, ‘Either you bring forward a proof or he (your cousin) takes an oath (to confirm his claim)’ I said, I am sure he would take a (false) oath, O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH).’ He said, ‘If somebody takes an oath when asked to do so through which he may deprive a Muslim of his property (unlawfully), and he is a liar in his oath, he will meet Allah Who will be angry with him.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 4549)
3. Abu Huraira reported:
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to the graveyard and said: “Peace be upon you! The abode of the believing people, and we, if God so wills, are about to join you. I love to see my brothers. They (the hearers) said: Aren’t we your brothers, O Messenger of Allah? He said: You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have, so far, not come into the world. They said: Messenger of Allah, how would you recognize those persons of your Ummah who have not yet been born? He said: Supposing a man had horses with white blazes on foreheads and legs among all black horses, tell me, would he not recognize his horses? They said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah. He said: They would come with white faces and arms and legs owing to ablution, and I would arrive at the Cistern before them. Some people would be driven away from my Cistern as the stray camel is driven away. I would call out: Come, come. Then it would be said (to me): These people changed themselves after you, and I would say: Be off, be off.
(Sahih Muslim: 249)
