Few Important Incident in virtues of Surah Al-Dahr
We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Dahr
1. Hazrat Abu Huraira reported that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) took hold of my hands and said:
Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created the clay on Saturday, and He created the mountains on Sunday and the trees on Monday. He created the things entailing labor on Tuesday and created light on Wednesday, and He caused the animals to spread on Thursday and created Adam (peace be upon him) after ‘Asar on Friday; the last creation at the last hour of the hours of Friday, between afternoon and night. This hadith is narrated through another chain of transmitters.
(Sahih Muslim: 2789)
2. Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri reported that Muawiya went to a circle in the mosque and said:
What makes you sit here? They said: We are sitting here to remember Allah. He said: I adjure you by Allah (to tell me whether you are sitting here for this very purpose)? They said: By Allah, we are sitting here for this very purpose. He said: I have not demanded you to take an oath because of any allegation against you, and none of my ranks in the eye of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) is the narrator of so few ahadith as I am. The fact is that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) went out to the circle of his Companions and said: What makes you sit? They said: We are sitting here to remember Allah and praise Him for He guided us to the path of Islam, and He conferred favors upon us. He adjured by Allah and asked if that only was the purpose of their sitting there. They said: By Allah, we are not sitting here, but for this very purpose, after that, he (the Messenger) said: I am not asking you to take an oath because of any allegation against you but for the fact that Gabriel came to me and he informed me that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, was talking to the angels about your magnificence.
(Sahih Muslim: 2701)
3. Narrated to Hazrat Is-haq bin Abdullah bin Al Talha(RA) :
I heard Anas bin Malik saying, “Abu Talha had more property of date-palm trees gardens than any other amongst the Ansar in Medina. The most beloved of them to him was the Bairuha garden in front of the Mosque of the Prophet (PBUH). Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) used to go there and drink its nice water.” Anas added, “When these verses were revealed: By no means shall you Attain righteousness unless You spend (in charity) of that Which you love. Abu Talha said to Allah’s Messenger (PBUH), ‘O Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)! Allah, the Blessed, the Superior says: By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you spend (in charity) of that which you love. And no doubt, Bairuha’s garden is the most beloved of all my property to me. So I want to give it in charity in Allah’s Cause. I expect its reward from Allah. O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH)! Spend it where Allah makes you think it feasible. On that, Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Bravo! It is useful property. I have heard what you have said (O Abu Talha), and I think it would be proper if you gave it to your Kith and kin. Abu Talha said, I will do so, O Allah’s Messenger .’ Then Abu Talha distributed that garden amongst his relatives and his cousins.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 1461)
