Few Important Incident in virtues of Sura Al Furqan

We mention some famous incidents related to Sura Al Furqan

1.Hazrat Umar bin Khattab said:

I heard Hisham b. Hakim bin Hizam reciting Surah al-Furqan in a style different from that I used to recite it, and in which Allah’s Messenger Holy Prophet(PBUH) had taught me to recite it. I was about to dispute with him (on this style), but I delayed till he had finished that (the recitation). Then I caught hold of his cloak and brought him to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and said: Messenger of Allah, I heard this man reciting Surah al-Furqan in style different from the one in which you taught me to recite. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) told (me) to leave him alone and asked him to recite. He then recited in the style in which I beard him recite it. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Thus was it sent down. He then told me to recite, and I recited it, and he said: Thus was it sent down. The Qur’an was sent down in seven dialects.

(Sahih Muslim: 818)

2.Narrated to Hazrat Abu Saeed:

Ali sent a piece of gold to the Prophet (PBUH) who distributed it among four persons: Al-Aqra’ bin H’Abis Al-Hanzali from the tribe of Mujashi, ‘Uyaina bin Badr Al-Fazari, Zaid at-Ta’i who belonged to (the tribe of) Bani Nahban, and ‘Alqama bin Ulatha Al-`Amir who belonged to (the tribe of) Bani Kilab. So the Quraish and the Ansar became angry and said, “He (the Prophet) gives the chief of Najd and does not give us.” The Prophet (PBUH) said, “I give them) to attract their hearts (to Islam).” Then a man with sunken eyes, prominent checks, a raised forehead, a thick beard, and a shaven head came (in front of the Prophet (PBUH) ) and said, “Be afraid of Allah, O Muhammad!” The Prophet (PBUH)’ said, “Who would obey Allah if I disobeyed Him? (Is it fair that) Allah has trusted all the people of the earth to me while you do not trust me?” Somebody who, I think was Khalid bin Al-Walid, requested the Prophet (PBUH) to let him chop that man’s head off, but he prevented him. When the man left, the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Among the offspring of this man will be some who will recite the Quran but the Qur’an will not reach beyond their throats (they will recite like parrots and will not understand it nor act on it), and they will renegade from the religion as an arrow goes through the game’s body. They will kill the Muslims but will not disturb the idolaters. If I should live up to their time,’ I will kill them as the people of ‘Aad was dead (I will kill all of them).

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 3344)

3.Narrated to Abu Musa:

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘The example of a good pious companion and an evil one is a person carrying musk and another blowing a pair of bellows. The one who is carrying musk will either give you some perfume as a present, or you will buy some from him, or you will get a good smell from him, but the one who is blowing a pair of bellows will either burn your clothes or you will get a bad smell from him.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 5534)

Conclusion

In this Surah, Allah is praised for the Quran. The one Allah is a sovereign Creator and Ruler. The idolaters worship helpless gods. The Quran is said to be Muhammad’s own forgery.Hazrat Muhammad protests that the Quran is from Allah. Unbelievers reject Muhammad(PBUH) because he is like other men.
