Few Important Incident in virtues of Surah Al-Ankabut

We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Ankabut

1. Narrated to Khabbab bin Al-Arat:

We complained to Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) (of the persecution inflicted on us by the infidels) while he was sitting in the shade of the Ka’ba, leaning over his Burd (covering sheet). We said to him, “Would you seek help for us? Would you pray to Allah for us?” He said, “Among the nations, before you, a (believing) man would be put in a ditch that was dug for him, and a saw would be put over his head, and he would be cut into two pieces, yet that (torture) would not make him give up his religion. His body would be combed with iron combs to remove his flesh from the bones and nerves, yet that would not make him abandon his religion. By Allah, this religion (Islam) will prevail till a traveler from Sana (in Yemen) to Hadrarmaut will fear none but Allah, or a wolf as regards his sheep, but you (people) are hasty.

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 3612)

2. Abdullah bin Buraida (Allah be pleased with him) reported on the authority of his father:

When we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), a woman came to him and said: I had gifted my mother a maid-servant, and now she (the mother) has died. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: There is a definite reward for you, and she (the maid-servant) has been returned to you as an inheritance. She (that woman) again said: Fasts of a month (of Ramadan) are due upon her; should I observe them on her behalf? He (The Holy Prophet) said: Observe fasts on her behalf. She (again) said: She did not perform Hajj; should I perform it on her behalf? He (The Holy Prophet) said: Perform Hajj on her behalf.

(Sahih Muslim: 1149)

3. Narrated to Umme Hani:

that regarding Allah’s saying: And you practice evil in your meetings. (29:29) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “They would throw pebbles at people of the land and make a mockery of them.

(Jamia at-Tirmidhi: 3190)

4. Narrated to Abu Wail:

Someone said to Usama, Will you not talk to this (Usman)? Usama said, “I talked to him (secretly) without being the first man to open an evil door. I will never tell a ruler who rules over two men or more that he is good after I heard Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) saying, ‘A man will be brought and put in Hell (Fire) and he will circumambulate (go around and around) in Hell (Fire) like a donkey of a (flour) grinding mill, and all the people of Hell (Fire) will gather around him and will say to him, O so-and-so! Didn’t you use to order others for good and forbid them from evil? That man will say, ‘I used to order others to do good, but I never used to do it, and I used to forbid others from evil while I used to do evil.

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 7098)

Conclusion

In this Surah, Allah explained that Nuh, Ibrahim, Lut, Shuaib, Hud, Saleh, Musa, and Muhammad all were prophets of God. All of them endured hardships. Hardships prove religious faith. Evil deeds will surely be punished. The righteous shall be rewarded for their good deeds—parents not to be obeyed when they oppose Allah’s law. Hypocrites exposed and rebuked. Unbelievers shall be punished for deceiving others by false promises.
