Few Important Incident in virtues of Surah Al-Ahqaf

We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Ahqaf

1-Narrated to Hazrat Khadija bin Zaid bin Thabit that:

Umm e Al-Ala, an Ansari woman who gave the pledge of allegiance to The Prophet (PBUH), said to me, “The emigrants were distributed amongst us by drawing lots, and we got in our share `Usman bin Mazen. We made him stay with us in our house. Then he suffered from a disease which proved fatal when he died and was given a bath and was shrouded in his clothes, Allah’s Messenger Holy Prophet (PBUH) came I said, ‘May Allah be merciful to you, O Abu As-Saib! I testify that Allah has honored you. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘How do you know that Allah has honored him?’ I replied, ‘O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH)! Let my father be sacrificed for you! On whom else shall Allah bestow His honor?’ The Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘No doubt, death came to him. By Allah, I too wish him good, but by Allah, I do not know what Allah will do with me though I am Allah’s Messenger (PBUH). ‘ By Allah, I never attested the piety of anyone after that.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 1243)

2. Narrated to Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas that:

Al-Fadal (his brother) was riding behind Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), and a woman from the tribe of Khatham came, and Al-Fadl started looking at her, and she started looking at him. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) turned Al-Fadl’s face to the other side. The woman said, “O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH)! The obligation of Hajj enjoined by Allah on His devotees has become due on my father, and he is old and weak, and he cannot sit firmly on the Mount; may I perform Hajj on his behalf?” The Holy Prophet (PBUH) replied, “Yes, you may.” That happened during the Khutba Hajj-al-Wida (of the Prophet (PBUH) ).

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 1513)

3. Narrated to Hazrat Anas bin Malik:

Abdullah bin Salam heard the news of the arrival of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) (at Madina) while he was on a farm collecting its fruits. So he came to The Prophet (PBUH) and said, “I will ask you about three things nobody knows unless he is a prophet. Firstly, what is the first portent of the Hour? What is the first meal of the people of Paradise? And what makes a baby look like its father or mother?’. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “Just now Hazrat Gabriel has informed me about that.” `Abdullah said, “O Gabriel?” The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Yes.” Abdullah said, “He, among the angels, is the enemy of the Jews.” On that, the Prophet (PBUH) recited this Holy Verse: “Whoever is an enemy to Hazrat Gabriel (let him die in his fury!) for he has brought it (Quran) down to your heart by Allah’s permission.” (2.97) Then he added, “As for the first portent of the Hour, it will be a fire that will collect the people from the East to West. And as for the first meal of the people of Paradise, it will be the caudate ( extra) lobe of the fish liver. And if a man’s discharge proceeded that of the woman, then the child resembles the father, and if the woman’s discharge proceeded that of the man, then the child resembles the mother.” On hearing that, Abdullah said, “I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah, O, Allah’s Messenger (PBUH); the Jews are liars, and if they came to know that I have embraced Islam, they would accuse me of being a liar.” In the meantime, some Jews came (to the Prophet), and he asked them, “What is `Abdullah’s status amongst you?” They replied, “He is the best amongst us, and he is our chief and the son of our chief.” The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “What would you think if Abdullah bin Salam embraced Islam?” They replied, “May Allah protect him from this!” Then Abdullah came out and said, “I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” The Jews then said, “Abdullah is the worst of us and the son of the worst of us,” and disparaged him. Abdullah said, “O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH)! This is what I was afraid of!

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 4480)
