Few Important Incident in virtues of Surah Al-Aadiyat
We mention some famous incidents related to Surah Al-Aadiyat
1. It is Narrated to Hazrat Anas(RA):
Some goods came to Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) from Bahrain. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) ordered the people to spread them in the mosque –it was the biggest amount of goods Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) had ever received. He left for prayer and did not even look at it. After finishing the prayer, he sat by those goods and gave those to everybody he saw. Al-`Abbas came to him and said, “O Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)! Give me (something) too, because I gave ransom for myself and Aqil. Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) told him to take. So he stuffed his garment with it and tried to carry it away, but he failed to do so. He said, “O Allah’s Messenger Holy Prophet (PBUH)! Order someone to help me in lifting it. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) refused. He then said to the Prophet: Will you please help me lift it?” Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) refused. Then Al-Abbas threw some of it and tried to lift it (but failed). He again said, O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) Order someone to help me lift it.” He refused. Al-Abbas then said to the Prophet: “Will you please help me lift it?” He again refused. Then Hazrat Al-Abbas threw some of it, lifted it on his shoulders, and went away. Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) kept watching him till he disappeared and was astonished at his greediness. Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) did not get up till the last coin was distributed.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 421)
2. Narrated to Hazrat Abu Huraira(RA):
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “The example of a miser and an almsgiver is like the example of two persons wearing iron cloaks. Allah’s Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) also said, “The example of an almsgiver and a miser is like the example of two persons who have two iron cloaks on them from their breasts to their collar bones, and when the almsgiver wants to give in charity, the cloak becomes capacious till it covers his whole body to such an extent that it hides his fingertips and covers his footprints (obliterates his tracks). And when the miser wants to spend, it (the iron cloak) sticks and every ring gets stuck to its place, and he tries to widen it, but it does not become wide.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 1443)
3. Narrated to Hazrat Anas bin Malik that:
Allah Almighty sent down His Divine Inspiration to His Messenger continuously and abundantly during the period preceding his death till He took him unto Him. That was the p eriod of the greatest part of revelation, and Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) died after that.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 4982)
Conclusion
In this Surah, Allah Almighty Swear the Horses of the Companions of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH), and Allah Swear that man is ungrateful to his Allah. Man loves the things of this world. Man’s secret thoughts shall be discovered in the judgment day. Surah al-Adiyat gives an example that horses are more grateful to their owners than men are to their Allah.
