Few Important Incidents in virtues of Sura Al-Hijr
We mention some famous incidents related to Sura Al-Hijr
1. Narrated to Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar that:
The people landed at the land of Thamud called Al-Hijr along with Allah’s Messenger Holy Prophet (PBUH), and they took water from its well for drinking and kneading the dough with it. (When Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) heard about it) he ordered them to pour out the water they had taken from its wells and feed the camels with the dough and ordered them to take water from the well whence the she-camel (of Prophet Hazrat Salih) used to drink.
(Sahih Al Bukhari: 3379)
2. Hazrat Ibn Abbas reported that:
A woman would pray behind the Messenger of Allah Almighty, peace and blessings be upon him. The woman was the most beautiful of all people. Some men would come early to be in the first row so as not to gaze at her. Some of them would go late to be in the last row. When they bowed, they would look at her between their limbs. Allah Almighty revealed the verse; We surely know who comes first among you and who comes last.
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi: 3122)
3. Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Holly Prophet (PBUH) said, “When Allah Almighty has ordained some affair in the Heaven, the angels beat with their wings in obedience to His statement, which sounds like a chain dragged over a rock. (Ali and other sub-narrators said, “The sound reaches them.”) “Until when fear is banished from their (angels) hearts, they (angels) say, ‘What was it that your Allah said? They say, ‘The truth; And He is the Highest, the Greatest. Then those who gain a hearing by stealing (satan) will hear Allah’s Statement. Those who gain a hearing by stealing (stand one over the other like this). (Sufyan, to illustrate this, spread the fingers of his right hand and placed them one over the other horizontally.) A flame may overtake and burn the eavesdropper before conveying the news to the one below him; or it may not overtake him till he has conveyed it to the one below him, who in his turn, conveys it to the one below him, and so on till they convey the news to the earth. (Or probably Sufyan said, “Till the news reaches the earth.”) Then the news is inspired by a sorcerer who would add a hundred lies to it. His prophecy will prove true (as far as the heavenly information is concerned). The people will say. ‘Didn’t he tell us that on such-and-such a day, such-and-such a thing will happen? We have found that is true because of the actual news heard from Heaven. The above hadith is also narrated by Abu Huraira, starting: ‘When Allah has ordained some affair) In this narration, the word foreteller is added to the word wizard.
(Sahih al-Bukhari: 4701)
Conclusion
In this Surah, Allah Almighty explained that Every nation has its day of grace. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) charged with demoniacal possession by the disbelievers (the Quraish). The unbelievers say a true prophet would have come with a company of angels. Angels are not sent to gratify curiosity, but to minister, judgment Allah is the author and preserver of the Quran. The former prophets were laughed to scorn. The scoffing Quraish judicially blinded. Allah declares his glory in Heaven and the earth. Allah is active in every part of Nature. He is the God of life, death, and judgment. Allah says Men created of clay.
